Rated 3 out of 5 by JDMacI from Worked well & looked good but quality issues now. I bought about 4 or maybe 6 Contigo insulated travel mugs over the years. I traded up from the autoseal to the luxe because I wanted something that would not leak. At first they were great. But after a year or two, I found the contents did not stay hot (or cold) nearly as long. It used to be 5 hours at nearly the original temperature … but now the contents were getting lukewarm after ~ 2 hours. And what was also disappointing was the paint started coming off. It got so bad that now I am embarrassed to take them to work or personal meetings. I never cleaned them with anything abrasive. I usually wash the mug and lid by hand with a plastic bottle brush and leave them on a rack to dry so I always have one for coffee and one for water. Occasionally I put them in the dishwasher - they were supposed to be dishwasher safe. I know things wear out eventually but I expected them to last longer and look better. I really loved the mugs, especially at the beginning, but I now have to buy more mugs and have to seriously consider if I will get a Kambukka. Sigh.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LiNYC from Absolutely the Perfect Travel Mug! I've been in search of the perfect coffee mug. I originally purchased the Courtland Chill 24 oz and it was simply too big. I then purchased the Jackson Chill 20 oz and replaced the lid with the Courtland Chill lid because I like the spill-proof aspect of the Courtland lid. The Jackson Chill lid has a big opening and is not spill-proof, only leak-proof. With both Coutland and Jackson, they were bottom-heavy when pressing the AUTOSEAL to sip, and uncomfortable to hold. Also, I had to call Contigo to make sure the Jackson Chill could hold hot liquids since the instruction on the wrapper indicates the product is only for cold liquids. I was assured by a Contigo representative, that hot liquids can be used in the Jackson Chill. After more research, I found the Luxe Stainless 16 oz, which is the ideal size and offers AUTOSEAL, the most important feature to me. The Luxe doesn't feel too bottom-heavy when turning the mug up to drink. I bought the all stainless, inside and out. It is sleek-looking and functions flawlessly. Love this mug, and plan to buy one this Christmas for all my coffee lover friends.

However, my latest mug has been a major disappointment. It leaks constantly, and I have had several spills of hot coffee in just the past week. I reached out to the Contigo company on January 31st, 2025, but have not received any response. I am frustrated that a trusted product has let me down, and customer service has been unresponsive. I hope this issue gets resolved soon, as I expect much more from this brand.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jwalt from A few glitches Love the way that this coffee mug looks but unfortunately it falls short on two key attributes: locking and thermal leak. The small locking mechanism at the top has a hard time latching, takes a few tries and sometimes feels broken. Also there’s a ton of heat loss through the top. Of those issues don’t bother you, then you’ll love it - it looks great and the dispenser works just fine.

When trying to find a travel mug it is hard to find one that fits all are requirements. This one fits all but one. PROS: Keeps things hot for long periods of time. Took almost 4 hours before you could actually tell a difference in temperature from the start. Has a lock to make sure that it stays sealed and it works great. It really holds the seal shut. Does not leak. If there is excess on the lid of course that will drip but the mug itself does not leak. CONS: Does not fit into the automobile cup holders. We do have an older car so have not tried it with a newer one, but the rounded bottom will go in but when it straightens up it is too wide.

The change from a rectangular shaped to a ball shaped plug has ruined seal ability. Bought 2 for me 2 for my daughter-in-law none of the 4 seal. No proof of purchase - didn’t think to keep as I thought I was purchasing a quality product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by RandBShopper from Liquid comes out from both sides I was excited to get this new Contigo mug because my old one with just the autoseal was so good in keeping the coffee in the mug and not on me. Well, the first time I used this, guess what? It spilled all over my face and dress because the coffee came out of the lock when I was finishing my coffee. Did anybody do QA on this? Why add this lock feature when liquid can come out of it? It just defeats the purpose of spill-proof! All you have to do is pour water on the lid while pressing the autoseal and you will see that water is pouring out from both sides. Bring back the original Contigo (image attached) that did not have the lock option! Who cares if there's accidental pressing of the autoseal? That's on the user. I just want a mug that only has 1 hole, not 2.

It was very difficult to clean so it was discarded. On to this one which appeared to be a better design for cleaning but does a very poor job keeping my coffee warm. This will go in the cabinet and I will get a Yeti like my wife has. Sorry......I tried.

The push to drink button is really a great idea, it prevents a lot of spills by not letting you forget to close it. It also has a lock to prevent accidental button pushing. My favorite part is the inside of the lid opens for better cleaning. Wonderful as I have had issues cleaning the lid before on insulated sealed cups. The cup has a decent cold/hot time but nothing amazing. Easy on the eyes! I have had zero leaks! Which is pretty awesome!

It keeps my coffee warm for several hours and kept my water cold, ice included overnight. Some extra advantages, it fits perfectly in my Keurig, is dishwasher safe (a huge plus for me) and really does not leak when tilted. The push button is easy to use when taking a drink and comes apart easily to clean. Thank goodness we don't have to throw out another travel mug because it's moldy because the pieces don't come apart! I highly recommend!

Due to recent car problems I’ve been taking the bus (don’t worry this story goes somewhere) and the other week I dropped my mug and it was ran over by a commuter bus. But it held up!! I make my cups of espresso in the morning and place them in my Luxe AUTOSEAL Vacuum-Insulated Stainless Steel Travel Mug - it keeps the coffee perfectly warm - morning thru lunch. After lunch I fill it with a cold smoothie, frappe or juice - and it keeps it cold for me thru my afternoon classes. I ride my bicycle every morning to class - the real plus side is that it fits my bike bottle holder!

This mug keeps my coffee too hot to drink after arriving at my destination, so I have to take the lid off to let it cool. This is the best contigo mug I have at keeping my coffee hot. For some reason though, I have more trouble with operating the push button on this mug (artritic fingers) and overall I just have a hard time drinking out of this mug. But it looks good sitting in my cupboard in my favorite red color :)

I think because the lid gets so hot is why the drink cools off so fast. Liquid pools where it seals unless you suck it out every time and that liquid will spill.

Rated 3 out of 5 by moldycoffeeisntgood from Design and sealing lid work great BUT My GF bought me one of these so I could take my coffee to work in my motorcycle saddlebag without having it leak all over the place. For that purpose it actually works pretty great. The problem is the black nasty mold that starts to grow all inside every nook and cranny in the lid. I have tried to use the wire brushes, dishwasher, near boiling water, soaking it for days at a time etc. and it never is fully rid of the mold. And I am very good about cleaning out the cup everyday when I get home from work so this is not from sitting around dirty. I'm sure most people do not like mold in there hot coffee, or in any drink for that matter. If I needed a sealable coffee cup for a 1 day trip this would be a good purchase. For any extended usage I may have to look elsewhere for a more cleanable option.

The only thing that I would like is a slightly larger option. 18-20 oz would be perfect. TOP 10 REASONS TO OWN THIS MUG! 1. Easy to drink from while driving or at my desk. 2. No spill, ever. 3. What i don't enjoy is the shape of the lip for drinking. The edge that goes into my mouth is too think and the hole is too small so that very little beverage comes out (perhaps the vent is too small as well) and i don't enjoy the mouth feel at all. Your previous cups with a more tapered finer edged lip was much more comfortable. I also find that the spring action in the auto seal is hard to lock into place (either position). I have had no trouble at all in the dishwasher. So i am content with that. I see that most of your cups have the nicer tapered edge - so it was my low luck day that these were the ones at Costco the day i went. question - is it possible to purchase replacement lids?

Which so often seems keep me just outa reach the table allowing my coffee to go cold. I either have to rush my drink or let it get cold. With the luxe autoseal travel mug my coffee can be right next me easy to take sip from and safe from spilling. The Luxe Autoseal travel mug has been a great way to have a drink hot or cold and be able to enjoy it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by purdy44 from Facial Hair? BEWARE! I had lost my beloved Contigo Westloop and the Luxe was the only mug available to me at my local store, so I thought I'd give it a try. I prefer everything about the Westloop, ESPECIALLY the lid. On the Luxe, there's a tiny seam where the knurled aluminum at top of the lid meets the black plastic and it catches my facial hair EVERY. TIME. It's very painful and now I'm scared to drink my coffee haha. I will be on the lookout for another Westloop to replace the Luxe.

At first, this design looked like the perfect combination of both lids designs (contigo+purist), but then, reading the reviews, I realized the lid's metal looks like it is not the best to drink fro, also they do not make them in 10 oz size... I have to wait to have my dream travel mug :)

Don't bother getting a colored one though, the film will begin to peel away after the first washing in the dishwasher. I was even told by their customer service that they had changed their process so that no longer happened. I should have stuck with plain stainless so much cup didn't look so trashed. I think I am done with Contigo colored drinkware.

However, I am tired of replacing them because they chip just in a couple of months. I hand wash as recommended. I am on my 8th mug, its time to replace b/c its looking very ugly. I have been pushing off to spend money to but another set. please fix the paint problem or just make them all in steel.

The "finish" started peeling off and the little seal "rubber" type part that prevents the liquid from spilling fell off in the dishwasher and I didn't notice... Was caught off guard when it spilled. Bought them as a two pack at Costco. A bit disappointed because it kept the liquid at right temperature (cold liquids are cold for a looooooong time and coffee is hot for a decent amount of time)

I brought coffee from home to work and once I got to work I got slammed with work and clients that I totally forgot about my coffee and ended up drinking a cup from work. Well once it was time to get off I remember my cup got home to wash it and the coffee from that morning was still hot!! I was amazed, this cup is very sleek and I love the lock option on the lid.
