Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works great for a few months... If this this lasted longer It would be perfect. However, after a few months they stop working correctly. I've been through 2 of these that developed the same exact issue after a few months. The button that you press on the handle to open up the drinking holes in the lid eventually just stops opening them. It looks like maybe the plastic warps after so long and when you press the button it doesn't open the drinking holes enough to get a drink. You end up getting just a tiny little drop of coffee because of it. There are rubber tipped seals that sit against the drinking holes in the lid to keep if from leaking. And when you press the button it's supposed to move those rubber seals down away from the holes to let coffee out. However, after a few months pressing the button does less and less until the button doesn't move them down far enough to open the holes enough to get a drink. Something is warping in the mechanism that opens the drinking holes and I don't see a way to fix it. This is the 2nd of the same mug that developed the same issue so I guess I'll have to find a different one this time as these are not cheap and I need something that lasts longer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor handle design, great product, just don't buy My favorite style mug, easy to carry can easy to drink from either hand without having to get the lid re-aligned in relation to the handles like other models. THAT BEING SAID, the lid opening function FAILS to open where it won't open fully. You have to tip the cup up higher and then it dribbles all over your chin and clothes! I have stained shirts due to this lid problem. I purchased another; same thing happened to the lid; it will not open enough to get a drink. The problem is inside the handle, when you push the button down to get a drink, the mechanism inside the handle will not move outward enough to open the stopper to allow liquid to exit the cup. You can remove the lid and open the stopper retainer as if you were cleaning and see the plunger from the handle; when you push the button to get a drink you can see clearly that it will not push enough outward to move the plunger open. I love the product and have purchased several others since WITHOUT the handled style opener where you must flip open to drink and enjoy them. There should be a recall on this design. I would love to purchase the handled lid if it were available, but it is not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Ever! I absolutely love the autoseal vacuum! I recently had an accident putting this mug in the console. I misjudged and it fumbled out of my hand. I was expecting an absolute mess but much to my surprise not a single drop came out! For that alone is a 5 star rating in my book. Keeps my coffee hot for hours but the biggest reason I love this brand over the overpriced others is it doesn't make my coffee taste like metal or alter the taste in any way! I'm always leary with metal solely because of that. This product boasts an easy clean lid. They aren't lying. Super easy to clean, super easy to use. My favorite is the locking mechanism on the handle. Life saver for sure! I would definitely recommend this travel mug to anyone! Not only being vacuum sealed, it has a locking mechanism made specifically to protect your vehicle from spillage! Accidents happen all too often, save a few choices words, an instant bad mood, the dreaded cleanup and maybe even the carpet. I was left in shock and did a bit of a happy dance when I realized I wasn't wearing this, it didn't spill and I wasn't running any later than normal. We have all been there unfortunately! Thanks for making such a great product!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Frustratingly short of genius .... I have always loved Contigo, but am not a fan of the handle-less form factor. I was ecstatic when I discovered this model. The design is a revelation. It is sufficiently leak-proof to throw in a bag when locked; the handle doesn't interfere with a car cupholder; and the auto seal keeps coffee at temperature for longer. Unfortunately (as many others have mentioned) there is a flaw that eventually renders this mug unusable. When an internal part (plastic) inevitably fails, the button will no longer open the mug fully and you WILL spill coffee on your shirt as it dribbles out the side/release. Contigo doesn't offer replacement lids, so the whole thing must be replaced. Tragic as it is, given the amazing design, this is essentially a $40 disposable. My first one lasted several years before succumbing, my second didn't even make it a full year. Though sorely tempted, I will not be buying a third. Given that this is a widely known issue that it has not been addressed, I may be forced to abandon Contigo as a brand. It is simply unacceptable from both a cost and a waste perspective (for what does one do with the perfectly functional tumbler portion when the lid inevitably fails). Sad. Could have been a perfect product but for an utter lack of quality assurance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Contigo left the competition in the dust with this This is by far the absolute best travel mug I have ever owned, and, I'm a person that is rightfully called a "travel mug junkie". If I fumble for this mug in the dark while dozing in my recliner, I do not have to worry about knocking it off my side table and bouncing it across the room. Not a drop will leak. And the addition of a handle that includes a button that opens it momentarily, only for the few seconds while you drink, has left the competition in the dust. As is the norm for Contigo mugs, I dump my coffee, sugar, and cream, into the mug, put on the lid, and simply shake the mug as I walk to my recliner, to mix it all. Another thing I like about Contigo is that they sell replacement seals and stoppers for their mugs. I use all my mugs in my Keurig coffee maker, which has 7 1/4 inches of clearance, with the drip tray pulled out. This series of mugs is 7 inch tall, so it fits just fine. However, it may be prudent to measure the clearance in your coffee maker before ordering, Another final note. As I do, if you have an older person in your family with a bit of arthritis in their hands, this mug might be a good choice, since it has a convenient handle, and a button that is well placed, and easily pressed, to get to the coffee. Cleaning is easy, I just pop mine into my dishwasher. P.S. If we were related, you would be getting one of these for your birthday.
