Finally, a big bottle. But...
Finally! A big water bottle that holds a full litre of water *and* doesn't use a straw. This has been missing from the Contigo line for a while.
Pros:
• Huge
• No straw
Cons:
• Leaks if one isn't especially careful about keeping it fully upright
• The plastic loop (handle?) is made of soft plastic that tears off under the weight of a full bottle. Bring back the rigid plastic carabiner-style handles! They were bulky, but they worked.
• Doesn't fit into a standard cupholder, which makes this a pain to use while driving. Contigo, please make your bottles fit in standard cupholders!

Leaky bottle
Bought this for trip out west, first time I used it.my husband asked me what all the water was on bus. Had no clue. Then I noticed the water around my bottle, where it screws together. I tried tightening the bottle but still leaks.

My favorite water bottle!
My favorite water bottle! The size is great. Fits in my car cup holders, but not my husband’s - I did buy cup holder expanders to make it work for his car. The auto spout lid makes it easy to drink water quickly (I often drink 12-16 oz all at once!). I haven’t had issues with leaking. We own several of these bottles, and I don’t leave home without it!
Would love to see it come out in more color options.

Can't use it - poor design.
Still looking for a decent water bottle - this isn't it. Too hard to use especially for someone with arthritis. The button you have to push is stiff, the lid is too big. Can't use it. Seems pretty fiddly frankly for a water bottle. Who needs a high tech lid????? Never got as far as seeing it leaking as some of the other reviewers have posted since I can't use it. Probably just as well...

Great bottle
Great bottle, makes water drinking so convenient. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because they don’t have good color options. I saw they used to make a dragonfruit color, but can’t find anywhere : (

I use them every day!
I have three 40 oz Cortland water bottles in the pink dragon fruit color and four in the grey licorice color. I've carried them around with me everywhere, daily, for about three years now and every one of them is still in good working order. I like that they're dishwasher safe and have a handle to carry them with and the flip top cover to keep the mouth piece clean. They don't leak even when they get tipped upside down for a significant time (I knock them over in my car all the time), they're a nice size (I had several of these bottles in 32 oz before but I like the 40 oz better) and, best of all, there is no straw to deal with! I prefer this Cortland model to the Jackson model because the opening on the Jackson is too big for me and I end up spilling a lot. The AutoSeal on the Cortland bottle allows me enough control over the flow that I can actually drink from it while lying in bed at night, but still has enough flow that I can use it without trouble while running. Sadly, I can't seem to find the other colors for the Cortland anymore, but I will still keep buying these bottles for as long as possible, They're my favorite!
