I purchased this water bottle for myself but when my daughter misplaced hers I let her borrow it. She would not give it back! She is in high school and loves that she can lock it to keep it from coming open, hook it to her backpack so she doesn't have to carry it between classes, and she's drinking more water than she ever has because of the design and ease of this bottle (THANK YOU, I tied every incentive and this worked!). Unfortunately, the spout stopped functioning. It stuck in the closed position and would not open. She is devastated because she absolutely loves this bottle. I'm still giving it 5 stars because it is an awesome water bottle.

Perfect for almost every occasion
I'm a graduate student, work in a healthcare environment, and try to stay active. Great color, and while it holds a lot of water, it is never too cumbersome to carry. Especially great at the gym since it's so effortless to drink from, and the one-handed operation is fantastic between sets or while running. When it tips over, I never have to really worry about it spilling a lot of water, but it's definitely not spill-proof. Overall, this is a fantastic bottle and I would easily get another one. Have personally recommended it to others and constantly get compliments on it.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MODEL
This model was nice for the first week, until one day while driving I reach over for my water bottle, hit the one "one handed" spout release, to have a waterfall of water all over my lap and it hit the windows! Can't forget about the random leaking. One again I was in my car (Im always on the go lol) and I made a turn and the water bottle went from upright to flat on its side (its sealed and I know it is) when i get to my destination which I believe was the gym, I had no water, All 32 oz had leaked into my seat... Pretty durable water bottle being that I have butter fingers so the durability is great!

Hate this water bottle
I never write reviews but this water bottle has driven me to do so, because it doesn't do what it says it does--hold water.
I got this one because it had the spout, collapsing straw, and even a lock. It seemed like the perfect bottle until I began using it.
It's ruined documents because sometimes it decides to spray water out when I open the collapsible straw, it leaks, and overall I want to smash it into thousands of tiny pieces.

Great Design with One Small Fixable Flaw
If you need a bottle that has spill resistance and that you can drink from it without having to tip it up, this is a great product! You should also plan on purchasing a small bottle brush (“test tube” size. The silicone external drink tube is not easily removable for cleaning. The center-fixed disc flap valve that allows one-way air flow into the container when sucking, but prevents fluid and air from escaping, will get stiff through time. The valve will begin to make it more difficult but not impossible to suck fluid out of the bottle. One remedy is to slit the disc with a razor knife in a couple of places from the outer edge about half-way to the center. This allows the disc to flex again.

Critical design flaw means liquid sprays out
There's a critical design flaw in this bottle. They've made it leak-proof but without an equalising valve for the pressure inside. This means if you fill it and leave it for a few minutes, as the liquid warms, it builds up pressure inside. Because the straw goes to the bottom, the pressure above the liquid forces it up the straw. If the cap is open, the liquid just eventually gets pumped out and dribbles all over everything. If the cap is closed the bottle behaves like a bomb and all the pressure is released at once when you pop it open, resulting in spraying liquid everywhere. If you use hot liquid, you risk severe burns from being sprayed. Contigo MUST fix this flaw with an atmospheric equalisation valve like those found on Otterbox products.
The increase in internal pressure can happen very easily. Put a cold drink in and it begins to warm up. Put a hot drink in and the steam will pressurise it. Leave the bottle in the sunlight. Drive down a hill.
This entire design flaw makes it very hard to suck liquid out of the bottle too because you're sucking against a vacuum with no atmospheric pressure inside the bottle.

But it looks good
It's a really nice bottle and love the color. The only bad thing is, that it has a little rubber black ring that suppose to seal it and the darn thing keeps popping out and is very hard to but back in. With out it the lid doesn't stay on good. I ended up buying another one but the same thing happened.

Leaky leak
I really want to love this water bottle. It has a sturdy bottle and a nice clip to conveniently take with you. It has some major downfalls though. It doesn’t fit in a cup holder so don’t even bother trying. It leaks EVERYWHERE. I could lose the entire bottle of water in minutes if I don’t notice it- and unfortunately have. It ruined some of my expensive college textbooks because it leaks so much. It’s also super loud when I drink that I’m almost too embarrassed to drink from it in class. This is the second lid I’ve gone through.
TLDR: bottle itself is great, lid not so much
