I bought this thing over ten years ago, dropped it out of my 18 wheeler so many times I lost count, it fell off of my motorcycle at 70 mph, the rubber finally went bad about a month ago, I had to buy one for my girlfriend because she kept steeling mine,and, today after ten years of abuse I had to order a new stopper and lid seal.If you’ve purchased one of these mugs and you can’t wear it out, loose it, or you just plain tired of it call customer service.They are so good it will irritate you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good thermos! I’ve been using the Contigo Thermos with SnapSeal for a few weeks now, and overall, it’s a fantastic product. It keeps my coffee hot for several hours and doesn’t leak at all, even when tossed in my bag — which is a huge plus. The SnapSeal lid is convenient and easy to use with one hand, and the slim design fits perfectly in cup holders. My only small complaint is that the lid can be a bit tricky to clean thoroughly, especially around the seal area. But that’s a minor issue compared to how well it performs. It’s durable, stylish, and does the job well — definitely worth it!

I should not have to buy another cup every time the lid is shot. This is what will make be search for a different brand that has replacement parts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great thermosmugg We own six of these thermosmuggs. We fill our coffee cups from it. We had problems we a couple after a year's had use. Contigo replaced the thermosmugg, no questions asked. They all must by hand washed to protect finish and gaskets. We are happy customers!

Best feature - the lid screws on the outside so a barista can fill you mug to the top and the lid goes on without spillage. Freakin' perfiect

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Contigo coffee mug I’ve had the cup on the right for over 4 years now, I work in construction so it has definitely seen some abuse! I just bought the left one two days ago and love it as well. (Especially because it fits more coffee) I still use both, and are my go to’s because the seal well and don’t leak when I’m going/on/and off the job site, I can just throw it in my bag and not stress over it leaking. The only problem I have noticed when I bought my first one the seal in the lid would sometimes come loose in the wash, as long as it’s seated properly it will not leak at all.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but don’t last for the lifetime warranty I initially bought a West Loop because of the design and lifetime warranty. I liked it very much so I bought several Byron’s. I like the design and the stainless steel bodies hold up well. The problem is with the rubbery grips, rubbery parts of the lids. The rubber breaks down, gets sticky and oozes an oily goo. The lifetime warranty is not as good as it sounds as you are required to show proof of purchase on an item that several years old. Ok, I’d buy new lids but they are no longer available like they were when I originally bought the mugs. I like the designs but I’ll buy a different brands cheaper mugs now and not plan on them lasting a lifetime since Contigo’s have irreplaceable parts that don’t last for a lifetime.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loved until it stopped insulating my iced coffee! I LOVED my first Contigo Byron. I used it 24/7 for several months until one day if just stopped insulating my iced coffee and ice water, meaning that rather than keeping my cold drink cold with ice in the mug even after 8 hours, the ice was melted and the drinks were tepid within 2-3 hours at most. I was really disappointed because, as an adult, I don't need a sippy cup and that was essentially what I then had. I figured for the $12-13 I spent, the first mug should have lasted longer but maybe it was defective and no big deal and I had used it around the clock. I then purchased another one 16 days ago, and as of yesterday afternoon it also stopped insulating for more than a couple of hours. I don't understand. I absolutely LOVE the design, the way it feels to hold it, the snapping open and shut leak-proof design. I've told friends that it was the best travel mug I'd ever owned until now both have lost their insulating qualities so I cannot anymore. I've never had an issue with leaking as others have stated, I just don't understand the insulation issue. If not for that, I'd have rated this 5*s but, obviously, the insulation issues is a big deal for me.

Today when i was cleaning it, to remove coffee residue on the bottom of its lid and found out the rubber seal was tearing apart and came to realized-I was ingesting tiny bits of piece of this rubber which is carcinogenic. And my respect to this company fell 2 notches. The product could have gone as far as providing 1 or 2 more rubber seals as extra for wear and tear.

Other than that they are awesome … but when the seal breaks they are useless …. Basically dust collectors with the rest of the junk bottles

The durability of this mug is impressive; it feels sturdy and well-built, which gives me confidence it’ll hold up well over time. When it comes to insulation, it keeps my coffee hot for a good few hours, which is perfect for longer commutes or travel. I also appreciate its portability – the slim design fits easily into my car’s cup holder and my backpack side pocket, so it's very travel-friendly. The leak-proof seal is a huge plus. I’ve tossed it into my bag a few times, and no spills so far! My only minor drawback is cleaning it; the lid has a couple of crevices that can be a bit tricky to clean thoroughly, so it requires a bit of extra care.

I gues wasted my money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot drinks stay hot for hours Both me and my husband use these contigo travel mugs. I use it for hot coffee and he uses it for hot tea. It stays hot for hours. We love the blue colors and each of us have a slightly different shade so we know who’s is who’s lol. We have had them for over a year and they are durable leak proof and easy to clean. No residue dishwasher safe and we use a lil brush to get all the nooks cleaned as well. We love this brand and are very loyal to it. Highly recommended

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs a better lid. I find trying to drink out of this in the dark is not easy, I usually take a drink of cold water with me to bed as I suffer from dry mouth. I reach over during the night and even in daytime I cannot get a drink without spilling some. The lid is not leaking, it is trying to line up my mouth with the hole in the lid. Most travel mugs have something you can feel with your mouth or tongue before you attempt to drink this does not. .Poor design.

It fits perfectly in my cup holder in the car! Love the round cylinder shape it's the perfect size! I like to choose the 20oz it's not overwhelming and just enough to enjoy! When I finish my coffee I just unscrew the top and my preferences is a bottle cleaner for easy cleaning! I highly recommend this Contigo Cup!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Until It's Not (Lid Fail) I now own 3 Byron mugs that are unusable, I kept buying them (until now) because they're truly one-handed and leakproof -- until each lid failed, within 1-2 years, Attempted to replace the gasket without success; it kept twisting and I could not get it seated properly, Hard to understand why Contigo does not offer replacement Snapseal lids, given the durability of the body of the mug, and the fact that this is a known issue.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Get it on sale not full price. Not worth it. Leaks after a month, the lid is difficult to clean, very difficult. I would leave the lid in hot water soaking with soap and it’s still dirty. This is disgusting. Look at the pictures. The rubber expands and you need to purchase a new one or replaceable rubber, it doesn’t keep the coffee HOT it might keep it warm. I have to reheat my coffee when I get to work and I work 10 minutes walk to my job.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NEVER AGAIN I just purchased the Byron two weeks ago, the mug is the perfect size for me to carry around at work but as for the lid that is my only issue, I can not take it apart to give it a good cleaning. With my Yetis I have no problem cleaning the lids they are very easy to take apart and clean with no problem.

I ended up dropping this cup on the road and it didn't dent it.. For me, this cop doesn't really spill or leak.. I highly recommend this travel mug. I have 2 of them and I love them.

And if you fill it with ice water, it last at least8 hours in my opinion with ice! Price isn’t too expensive as some brands. I love contigo coffee mugs!

The first one the cap seal kept falling out and the flip lid got to the point of too hard to open. the outside rubber portion for the hand started breaking down. After months, rust developed in the bottom of the second purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Leak proof easy clean lid. Hard to find that combo Took me a while to find a mug that had a leak proof lid but that was also easy to clean. This guy does both of those. It keeps my coffee nice and toasty even when the mug is placed in my freezing cold drink holders in the car on winter mornings. Easy to drink from also.
