The Spill-Proof Kids THERMALOCK Stainless Steel Tumbler with Straw lets children as young as 3 sip out of a cup just like the big Kids. No need to worry about messy spills, even if your toddler holds this well-designed tumbler upside down, thanks to a leak-proof silicone seal around the straw opening and a spill-proof valve on the inside. For good measure, engineers added a soft-grip pad under the tumbler to minimize skids and tipping. The THERMALOCK dual-wall vacuum insulation keeps drinks cold up to 10 hours and helps prevent condensation, even after hours of fun at the playground. Road trip? This 12 oz. tumbler fits most car cup holders. Rest assured, all materials are 100% BPA-free. At the end of a long day, you’ll be happy to know that body, lid, and straw are dishwasher safe on the top rack and the straw twists apart for easy cleaning.

Sad Lid :( Sad KidSad - I just wrote the review but not sure if I did it correctly. This cup I thought was great the first and second day. I realized though after putting some orange juice in it instead of plain water, that the orange juice was stuck in the lid. So then I submerged the lid in water and no luck getting it out. I followed some troubleshooting comments and no lunch either. So overall, it’s still wet from that day and has the orange juice in it still. And will not dry- I love their other products but not this one because of the lid. So now I sadly just use the cup and lid but then have to hold it for my daughter as she’s still pretty young.

Good idea but design flaw with lidI really love this cup for how it performs but unfortunately had to return it. The lid accumulates water in between the two plastic parts after washing and it does not dry! I have attached pictures of a two lids I left out to dry for SIX days and you can still see the condensation inside. This will surely lead to mold issues down the line. So disappointing because it really is a great cup otherwise.

Lid traps moisture & can't be cleanedWe've loved this water bottle for a year, but despite only using it for water, the lid still trapped gunk & moisture. Finally took it apart to clean and the leak proof seal is impossible to put back in. So now the bottle is no longer leak proof. Major disappointment, especially since we had been recommending it to others! And replacement lids are not available for this model. Too bad.

Hard To Clean StrawMy kiddo absolutely loves this cup and we’ve had zero issues with it leaking on us. Keeps milk cold for hours. The only problem is that we’ve found milk can get stuck in certain places. We took the straw apart a couple days ago to get it clean and now we can’t get it back together. There’s a thin piece of silicone that keeps the milk from leaking but it was also trapping milk underneath. We got it out to clean it (thank goodness cuz it was gross) but we can’t get it to go back! I haven’t been able to find any replacement straws either so I think his cup is going to be out of commission for awhile. Such a bummer!

No more spillsMy kids are always knocking over the water cups at dinner time. Especially my five year old. He's very good at tipping every cup over on accident.
However, I switched him to this cup and we have not had one single spill! Gone are the days of mopping up drinks every night. When he knocks it over, there is just no mess.
I hate hand washing so I put it through the dishwasher and it held up just fine.
Personally I love the metal cups, they don't again and hold the smell like plastics do. It has a cool design on the outside so it catches my son's attention. He really enjoys having it.
I'm just really excited to have a truly spill free cup

Design needs improvementI purchased this tumbler to keep my son's smoothies cold and mess-free. The straw is very narrow, which made it difficult for him to drink even slightly thick smoothies so I needed to make sure they were thinned out. After about a year of use mold was visible in the silicone crevices (in the leak-proof straw, beneath the o-ring, the seal around the straw, and the spill-proof vent). I removed the vent to clean it properly but due to the design, it can't be reinserted into the lid so the lid is no longer leak proof.
I came to the Contigo website to purchase a replacement lid but they're not offered for this model. I wouldn't recommend this tumbler since it's difficult to clean the crevices where plastic and silicone meet.

Great concept, lackluster over timeThis is a great cup! Until it isn’t. Having replacement lids and straws available for this model would easily yield 5 stars from me. We left milk in the cup and forgot about it. I could not get the lid or straw satisfactorily clean. As we’ve had the cup for a couple of years (and it’s taken quite a beating!), I tossed the lid and straw with the assumption I could just get new pieces. Alas, I cannot. These are favorite cups in our home, but with this recent development, we will be looking for something similar that has replacement parts available before making a purchase. So disappointing.

Was ALMOST the best cup everWe LOVED these cups for our twin two year olds for almost a month. These were the first cups that didn’t leave us with a major mess from our creative little rascals. They love to start their day with a smoothie and this cup could keep it chilled just right. Not to mention that it was the first “girl” cup we have found that had the best of both worlds, pink and a “bug” design. They were so excited to look for the “wormies” while they ate their breakfast. But then it happened...the mold. We washed the cups diligently and were sure to leave the lids upright to dry. Unfortunately it was impossible to clean under the clear top. If we could have popped that top to clean it properly, this would have been a 5 star review with an order for 4 more...
