Replacement Lids

Are all your lids dishwasher safe?

Who wants to wash dishes when they could be doing, well, anything else? All our lids are dishwasher safe - but we strongly recommend rinsing them prior to putting them in the dishwasher. Simply let the water run through the spout as well as the vent and then toss them on the top rack of your dishwasher.

Do you have any tips to make sure my lid is screwed on tightly?

No one wants to cry over spilled milk - or coffee - so here’s some tips to keep a lid on it (literally).

  • Place the lid on top of your mug
  • Apply slight downward pressure & rotate counter clockwise until you hear a click and lid falls into place
  • Keep rotating clockwise to tighten down until secure
I don't see the replacement lid I need on your website. Where else can I find it?

We’d love to have a pop up shop on every corner, but right now our website is the only place to buy replacement lids. If you don't see your lid, feel free to email us at or give us a call at 1.888.262.0622 and we’ll try to help you find what you’re looking for!

How long will it take to ship my order?

If only we could hand deliver them to you ourselves! But alas we’ve got amazing products to design and emails to answer - so here’s the breakdown:

U.S. Shipping Times:
FedEx SmartPost* 8 - 10 business days

FedEx Home Delivery 6 - 7 business days

FedEx Two Day 3 - 4 business days

FedEx Standard Overnight 2 - 3 business days

Please Note: Orders that ship FedEx SmartPost can only be tracked to your local post office. Once it arrives at the post office, it will ship USPS to your home. At this time, this option is only available in the contiguous US.

Canada Shipping Times:

How will I know when my order ships? Will I receive a tracking number?

We’ve found online tracking to be a whole lot easier and more reliable than trying to train Chicago’s pigeon populace to deliver tiny, handwritten notes.

You’ll receive an email from FedEx confirming shipment of your order and your tracking number within 3 - 5 business days if not sooner. If you select the SmartPost option, you’ll only be able to track the package to your local post office. From there, the package is sent USPS and can no longer be tracked via FedEx.

Please note that you won’t receive a shipment notification email or tracking number for orders containing only replacement lids and/or cleaning brushes. Orders containing only replacement lids and/or cleaning brushes are sent via USPS.

How much will the shipping cost on my order?

Shipping via FedEx SmartPost in the contiguous US is $4.99, unless you spend $35 or more and it's free!. For bulk orders (over $150 in the US) standard shipping rates apply.

If you are shipping to Canada, you will need to use the shipping estimator on the checkout page. The costs are pulled directly from FedEx when you enter the shipping address during check out.

Do you ship to Canada?

Yes! We are able to fulfill web orders shipping to Canada.

Do you ship to Puerto Rico?

Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to fulfill web orders to Puerto Rico.

Do you have accelerated shipping options?

We know you want your Contigo as soon as possible. Unfortunately, at this time we can only ship FedEx Smart Post or FedEx Ground. We hope to add more options soon!

Exchange & Refunds


Did you pick the wrong color or was the style simply not working for you? No worries, if your product was purchased from the Contigo website within the last 60 days we can help you with the exchange.

Just email or call us at 1.888.262.0622 to receive a return authorization number (RA). To make the exchange process as quick and seamless as possible, please don’t return your product without the RA number. If your product was purchased from another retailer, you’ll need to exchange the product at that same retailer.

Note: We don’t refund original shipping charges and you will be responsible for all return freight charges, including duty and tax (if applicable). Also, for your protection and convenience, we suggest all returns be sent back to us through a traceable carrier. It just makes it easier on everyone to know where your package is located at all times.

Warranty Replacement

How do I submit a warranty claim?

To submit a warranty claim, go to the “Need Help” section and click "Lifetime Guarantee." Then, click "fill out form." Within the form, you will be required to submit two photos of your product in order for us to better understand the issue. Please include a photo of the lid, as well as a photo showing the issue at hand.

After we receive your information and photos, we will contact you within five business days with the results of your claim.

If my claim is approved, will I get the same replacement product?

While we would love to give you the exact same product it’s not always possible. Our stock levels are constantly changing so we may need to replace your product with a slightly different color or a similarly featured model.

What if I didn’t purchase my product from, can I still submit a claim?

It may be faster to return your product to the retailer you purchased from, however this is not required.

Please review the warranty information under “Need Help” and then “Lifetime Guarantee”. If you believe your product qualifies for the warranty, simply fill out the form (you do not need an order number) and we will review it accordingly.

I submitted a warranty claim, what’s next?

We typically process warranty claims within 2-3 weeks. Once we review them, we’ll reach out and let you know whether or not your warranty has been approved. If your warranty has been approved, we’ll include next steps. Either way, you’ll hear from us.

What’s covered under the warranty?

We’re extremely proud to stand behind the design, quality, materials and workmanship that go into every one of our products. We go to great lengths to create the best product that we can, and then we back that excellence with the Limited Lifetime Guarantee.

The warranty covers:

Normal wear and tear

Do you sell parts?

We don’t sell individual parts for our water bottles and travel mugs (like gaskets or seals). Instead, we sell replacement lids for most of our products. That way, we can handle the DIY for you.

Can you send me a part under the warranty?

No, unfortunately, we don’t have parts (gaskets, seals, etc.) to ship out. But if your warranty claim is approved, we’ll do you one better and replace either your lid or your whole product.

I’m not sure what product I have, how do I fill out the warranty form?

We try to make it as easy as we can, so we’ve included pictures of all of our products. Select the category of your product (Mugs, Water Bottles, etc) and look for the model and color that’s closest to your product.

Will I get the same exact product with my warranty request?

We do our best, but due to inventory changes we cannot always replace your product with the same color or exact model. If that’s the case, we’ll replace your product with something very close — either a slightly different color or a model with similar features.

Materials & Construction

What are your water bottles made out of?

Here at Contigo®, we take health and quality very seriously. All of our plastic water bottles are BPA free and many are also made from FDA approved Eastman Tritan™. Eastman Tritan is far more durable than a traditional plastic and helps resist against stains and odors.

Our stainless steel water bottles are also BPA free and are made from food-grade stainless steel.

What are your travel mugs made out of?

Our stainless steel travel mugs are made out of food-grade stainless steel. They’re also BPA free.

What’s THERMALOCK™ vacuum insulation?

Thermalock™ vacuum insulation locks in the temperature for hours. On these types of bottles and mugs both inner and outer walls are made of stainless steel, and the air between those walls is removed to create a highly-insulated barrier. This form of insulation delivers the best hot or cold retention possible and also prevents condensation and sweating. Your hot beverages will stay piping hot for up to 5 hours and your cold drinks will stay refreshingly cold for up to 18 hours.

Can I put cold drinks in my travel mug?

Well certainly! Thermalock™ vacuum insulation on your stainless steel travel mug will help keep your drinks cold for hours.

Can I put hot drinks in my water bottle?

Unfortunately no, the components in your water bottle are not engineered to withstand the heat from hot beverages.

What’s double wall plastic construction?

Sweaty palms should be saved for first dates and playoff games – not from holding your water bottle. Double-wall construction means that the water bottle or travel mug body features both an inner and outer plastic wall which helps reduce sweating and condensation.
