A couple of things to be aware of: 1) These are fatter than the Trekker water bottles and other earlier kids Autoseal cups and do not fit in our child car seat cup holders. 2) unlike the Westloop, as of yet, there are no replacement lids so though you spend almost as much as for a Westloop (investment for hot/cold ability) when the plastic or seal fails your choice is buy a whole new bottle or not. One of ours did same as the customer who gave review with one star but ours went for a few months of heavy kid-use before it started leaking from the drinking/vent holes. We also experienced the cracked plastic ring on the other from an well aimed drop, but as with the other review, our is still functional. For the leaking lid, I examined the mechanism and everything seems fine and I couldn't see any visible problem with what I could see of the seal surfaces. Though you can't see and thus can't examine the vent hole seal at all. On the plus side the lids are the same size as the other kids Autoseal cups, so we use one of the Trekker lids to allow us to keep using the thermal stainless steel bottle. All in all, We like 'em and will likely order again (when the colors that my kids like are back in stock. :) )

We have a few of these water bottles, and have had them for a couple of years now. My only problem is with my kids leaving them at school and friends' houses, but short of adding a tracking-device, I don't think Contigo could change that ;). All of the bottles have been dropped MANY times, and to date, only one has broken, but even that hasn't affected it's functionality (part of the plastic around the top of the bottle chipped off), and I think it took a serious fluke to manage to have it land in such a way that this happened. I only wish this came in a larger capacity, because when the weather is warm, we often have to send a "backup" bottle. Also, I wish Contigo would add the rubber base on the "grown-up" stainless water bottle, because my kids' bottles are in better shape than my husband's and mine!!

When I saw the previous low review I had to set the record straight. I have a collection of these bottles and use them pretty much daily for school lunches, outings, after school activities, sports etc. The reason I keep coming back to Contigo is that they don't leak, and my kids can use the autoseal lid easily. One of my kids has a developmental delay relating to fine motor skills and strength in her hands and would have difficulty opening a competitor's screw-cap bottle. Plus, these are insulated. Great for cold water in summer, and if you want to pack a perishable drink like milk or juice, a thermal bottle is a must. The only downside is that they don't last forever. If you drop them on a hard surface they are prone to cracking the ring that the lid screws into, and then they are caput. However, I feel that we get our money out of them - and the price is more reasonable than other brands.

I bought this cup for my son to go to school and he loves it. It does a good job keeping his milk cold. Unfortunately the red seal on 2 of the cups came out about a month and a half after purchase. I spoke with a representative about replacing the lids and they said they would send me two new cups but unfortunately they no longer made the cup I had. Weill the picture above is the exact cup. So while they did replace my cups they did so with the cheaper un-insulated cups.

I bought this cup for my daughter to have specifically for a road trip thinking it would be great. I was so disappointed! It leaks more than any other cup I have for her. My husband and I are HUGE fans of their other cups for coffee and swear by them for being leakproof. This cup however, is anything but. I would not suggest it. Sorry!
