IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: I bought 12 of these Autospout Striker Kids water bottle (some with graphics) and anyone who has this brand know you can not detach the spout part to clean, it is suppose to be sealed off so nothing can get in....well WRONG! I clean my kids cups everyday whether in the dishwater or by hand. Upon cleaning by hand I accidentally pulled to hard on the spout and I am glad I did because what I came across is unacceptable and plain disgusting: everyone of the water bottles I owned were molded inside the spout that was suppose to be sealed. Even the ones I had just bought and used twice! WARNING THESE BOTTLE ARE NOT SAFE OR CLEAN FOR CHILDREN TO USE!!!! When I called the company to tell them what I had discovered they informed me that mold was not in there lifetime warranty and that they could do nothing for me. These need to be pulled from the shelves before a child with a compromised immune system becomes very sick!

Bought a 3 pack at Costco for my kids to use at school and straws won't stay in the valve. My kids are too little to be able to open up the bottle and put the straw back in place. Stopped sending them bottles with them to school and started using them only when I am with them so I can put the straw back in place. Have only had them a month and 1 bottle was leaking after 2 weeks. Emailed the company, sent pictures and have been waiting 2 weeks and still haven't received a response, very disappointing.

Yep, I did it, I threw 2 of these away. We used them just for water, too. Straws were kind of funky, so we ditched those first, but the mouthpiece got gross and I took it apart as much as it could be taken apart and jammed the brush in all angles, but couldn't reach the black bits that were stuck. Kids like the little loop to hold it by, and only had leaks when the inside part of mouthpiece wasn't aligned. But, you have to be able to clean all parts... now that's what I look for when I buy these things, cleanability.

I just bought this water bottle for my kid from Target. I'm pretty livid. I have done everything I can to make sure it's drinkable, but it just isn't possible. Even when I suck on the top, tons of air comes out and hardly any drink. My kid is two! If I'm having trouble, how do you think he's managing?! What a waste of $10. You're right, it sure is leak-proof. Nothing comes out! PERIOD!

my kids bring these bottles to school everyday. They don't leak and hold up well to their rough handling. I have a different color for each of my 3 kids. I think the only thing I would change is to have a stainless cup..to keep water cold longer - but the lid is super!

Bought this for my 3 year old son. It seemed like an awesome bottle. After getting it home I noticed the straw part coming loose all the time. I contacted customer service and they referred me to the online replacement form. After reading the other reviews I doubt I will have much luck with a replacement. I wish I would of read them before I bought the bottle in the first place. So disappointed.

...and I am very disappointed in them. We use them strictly for water to avoid mold problems but they will not stay operational. My 3 yo is very disturbed when he can't get a drink, no matter what position he uses. The other 3 kids are older but still can't get decent usage from the bottles. They are broken after usage of 6 months time and we started with 8 cups and are down to 2.

The cups were great when you first get them, but after using them for a while they do not work as well or at all. The you cannot suck anything out of the bottle.

These water bottles suck so bad. Your kid has to really SUCK to get anything out of them in the first place, the straws fall out constantly, and our straw/lid stopped working after only a month. And the process to get a replacement lid is RIDICULOUS. I wasted my money and hope no one else ever buys this bottle.

We love the bottles. We bought 6 from costco and use them daily. I have had no issue with the construction but i recently noticed mold or mildew growing in the spout. I hand wash the bottles every night. I can not get to the part where the mold is. Very disappointed.

I bought these at Costco in the 3 pack. Within 2 weeks, one of them had a small chip in the white plastic part inside the lid area where the straw attached--which left no suction ability at all. The other two are still working, but the straws fall out ALL THE TIME, I literally have to open the lid at least once or twice a day for my daughter to replace the straw that's fallen out of place. Contigo does have a lifetime replacement guarantee--and so I submitted my claim for the one that broke here: http://www.gocontigo.com/guarantee-info/ Hopefully that link will help others to submit their claims, and they can take this very poorly made product out of their business. I love their other products, and am just so surprised at these bottles being so awful.

I really wish I had read all these reviews before shelling out $10 at Target for a straw bottle to replace a leaky Thermos one. My son loves the color and the ease-of-use UNTIL the straw mechanism pops out. How frustrating! To open the bottle to fix...while he's at school? He's in kindergarten. This is ridiculous. I'm shocked at all these bad reviews, thought we just got a bad one. The search continues...

I have been looking to buy these but the comments have made me a bit skeptical. It does however seem that one common denominator is Costco. Anyway that it's an inferior contigo product being sold for Costco brands that might make it different from purchasing directly from contigo or another seller?

My triplets have these cups and after a while one broke. We could not suck air and after getting a replacement I checked it out more. Come to find out by cleaning it it cracked the rubber and I think thats what happened. Now I have another one doing the same but I follow the cleaning direction, BUT THERE IS MOLD growing where I can not reach..the only way to reach it is to pull on it a little and then the cup breaks :( Really disappointed because if that was fixed this would be a wonderful cup! Easy to use and my kids love it.

I have always been very happy with Contigo and sang their praises. However, we bought four of these a little over a month ago and three of the four developed leaks in the cap and no longer work! I am very upset about this. What a waste of money! It makes me what to rethink the Contigo brand. With two sets of twins, one kid Contigo is not enough.

We purchased a 3-pk of the Strikers water bottles for our three kids, thinking we'd get the same design quality as has been proven in our many Contigo metal/plastic travel mugs. Unfortunately, the inner straw holder, inner valve assembly, and the inner rubber spout are all poorly fitted and do not hold together inside the bottle. We've read, re-read, and read again the instructions, and we can not get the straws to stay intact. I believe the motion of unlocking the outer spout/mouthpiece produces a squeezing effect and it pushes the straw out of the valve assembly to free come loose during almost every use -- gently trying it myself with the same results:-(
Additionally, one of the clear rubber spouts (inside the lid) cracked and will now never form a tight seal down to valve assembly and straw). Receipt in hand, contacting customer service now.

I bought 2 bottles for my kids and they stopped working after less than 3 months of use. The suction stopped working and they can't suck any water out! Completely useless product and the website offers NO help at all!!!!

As so many reviewers have already stated, the tops of these bottles are defective. We purchased 6 of them from Costco and less than 6 months later none of them are working. The problems started almost immediately with the black seal coming loose - it is tricky to get it back in, but somehow my husband managed. By now most of them have simply lost suction and are useless. There is obviously a design flaw because I have so many other Contigo products that are fantastic! Wrote an email to the manufacturer hoping they will replace with a different design.

I bought two bottles from costco. One of the bottles had an issue with the straw staying in place. It fell out constantly. I was debating returning them to costco when the other bottle abruptly stopped working. Just like other reviewers, just sucking air. Thank goodness for costco's awesome return policy.

So many parts for such a simple task. And some of the parts are poorly designed! Seriously, two parts need to be pre-assembled BEFORE the straw is inserted AND before inserting into the lid?! And even then the assembly does not securely fit nor does it stay in place esp when ice is in the bottle. My suggestion: Buy a VERY well-designed Camelbak.

Like most of the other reviewers here, after a few months of use, the rubber tube inside the spout assembly in the lid has torn as a result of normal use. These are great when they work, but not worth the price given the 100% failure rate.

Also kind of disappointed that nobody from Contigo has addressed this issue in the comments, or elsewhere.

I have been looking for a good "straw" cup for some time. When you spend this much on one cup, you expect it to work. Oh how I wish I read the reviews before purchasing, but I did not. I just bought it yesterday. I can't tell you how many times I have had to put the straw back in. If I have to open his cup and touch the straw three to four times each cup full....I don't know. I really want to love the cup, but for heaven's sake, can you not get the straw to stay in? R&D - come on.

When this worked, we loved it. My son can use it easily and loves how the spout "pops up." He shows everyone how it works and it's hilarious. We've never had a problem with leaks, and I appreciate that the spout is covered when not in use. Also love that it can go in the dishwasher. But... After following all the care instructions carefully, we have had the same problem as other reviewers: all of a sudden we can suck nothing but air. We've used the bottle successfully for about 6 months of light use (about two uses a week). My husband and I felt really silly that we couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, but it looks like lots of people can't figure it out either. I went out and bought a replacement bottle (not worth buying the extra lid for the $), and comparing the two, I still can't see what is wrong with the one that won't work. I will probably keep the broken one and try to convince my kid to use it without the straw, but not sure he'll buy that. Really wish Contigo would offer some guidance on the problem. I do love these bottles.

I purchased 9 of these bottles from CostCo and have had them for over a year. They are still in good condition except for the silicone mouth piece my son has chewed. I've had to put 4 of these bottles aside because they are a choking hazard. I contacted Contigo today to get a replacement piece and they don't make one. They offered me a 20% discount to purchase new bottles. No thank you! My bottles are useless now and will be in our landfills taking up space. This can all be avoided if you just made the tiny replacement piece I need. I'm not a happy customer!

I bought a pack of the autospout kid bottles and have had no problems. I would not buy any other kind. I have used them for over 6 months and my kids love them. I take the bottle all apart with the spout open and wash them in the dishwasher and they are still in great shape. I am on this site to buy a couple more for a trip we are going on.

I purchased two packs of these at Costco. I was frustrated with leaky cups and I love the closed spout to keep it clean. However, this product is majorly flawed. After a few months we are down to only 3. Three no longer work, the suction does not work. I tried it without the the straw but it still doesn't work We stopped putting them in the dishwasher but that doesn't seem to be the issue either. I'm angry to see so many others with the same problem. We would give this product 5 stars if it didn't have such a major design flaw. Please fix your product or get if off the shelves.
